Walking in the park.
Stopping and turning, eyes tightly shut, towards the sun. The faint heat of our burning star warming the flesh on a cool autumn day.
The breeze in the trees making each leaf, once so green, take its turn to fall to the ground like multicoloured confetti and outstreached fingers catch one as it performs its final dance.
Make a wish - everyone knows that until it touches the ground the leaf in your hand has a wish to grant.
Can that wish be transferred? If so I give it to you, if only because I can.

Alternative Clothing

I saw a nice dress in town but not in my size.
http://www.katesclothing.co.uk/Hell-Bunny-Red-Polka-Dot-50s-Dress-p/mrc5064red.htm
After a bit of searching I found it for a reasonable price and ordered it late Saturday night. It arrived on Tuesday.

After a bit of consideration I decided I really needed a bag. Again I ordered it from Kates Clothing - ordered late Wednesday night arrived half nine this morning.

Now that is what I call service.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing’s users. As in, they sit on the shelf to make you look smart or well-rounded.
Bold the ones you've read.
Underline the ones you read for school.
Italicize the ones you started but didn't finish.
Add (*) beside the ones you liked and would (or did) read again or recommend. Even if you read them for school in the first place.
I'll mark the ones we have but I haven't read with  a ~  just coz

So pretty.

Best thing about this time of year - what with the short days and long nights - all the pretty colours.
I work in an office 5th floor of a building - gives an ok sort of view over the city. You get sunrise in the morning, sunset in the evening - all without having to be awake at a totally unreasonable hour.

I'll be off now to be geeky again.

I have broadband - the internet works :-)
Now I just have to sort out all these cables.....
I chose Be so far so good. It is fast, I had no trouble getting set up. Life is good!

I'm still on about broadband.

I've been looking about more.
I could do with an opinion on a few offers I've seen

www.bethere.co.uk - there (up to)8mbps unlimited download doesn't seem bad at £14 a month and has good reviews (downsides no email addresses no frills really, £24 connection charge & the free wireless modem & other stuff is only free if you return it if you cancel with them)

www.plus.net - option 3 £19.99 (up to) 8mbps 20GB (overnight not counted) free wireless router, no connection fee

www.virgin.net option 2 £17.99 a month (up to) 8mbps, no limits , £40 for a wireless router (that I don't really need but would probably get)

www.bt.co.uk £25 for up to 8mbps, unlimited, bit cheaper for first 3/6 months depending how long you sign up for, free lots of stuff and a £50 discount though an offer at work.

I could get cheaper if I took a broadband and talk package, but I don't really want to.

the free laptop I could get with AO(hel)L just isn't worth it.

I'm seriously considering divorcing my current internet provider - quite frankly they suck and their dial up wind-up just isn't working for me - often literally - the amount of times I get "corrupt terminator" messages is just too frequent - their broadband is a rip off.

No rash decisions here, I plan to change everything that is connected to my current emails to something else and have a week or so overlap - bad internet access better than no internet access.

I have a question - who should I trust to provide be with broadband - (I can't get cable but depending on what site I look at I should be able to get between 4 & 6 MBps)?

Anyone got any good/bad stories?

Ao(Hel)L would give me a free laptop though carphone warehouse (not sure I like the idea of AOL talk or Aol for that matter)
plusnet seems not too bad £19.99 a month up to 8MBps, 20Gb limit - not counting between midnight & 8am free wireless 4 port router

bt aren't the cheapest but the phone lines into the flat look dodgy...

I'm confused.

Was in The 78 (12-14 Kelvinhaugh Street, Finnieston, Glasgow, G3 8NU, 0141 576 5018) the other day. It used to be Stereo but now it does food - all Vegan I must add - and damn good hot chocolate. They don't have a fixed menu yet but when I was in had a reasonable choice of meals at not too bad a price (most of the mains were £6.95 but you can get chips for £2 and cake for about £3.
Unfortunately when I was in, for the majority of the time the number o9f customers equaled the number of staff (2 of each).
I only knew it had opened and where because of a review in the Metro but I feel obliged to tell people about it.

I'm hungry now thinking about it - must go eat.

Doctor Who wasn't half bad last night. I can put up with one more week of Martha being "ooh your all pretty like me please" then she has to start seeing him as he actually is. I would like the conversation to go like this
Doc: "actually I personally put-down your "cousin" with my sonic screwdriver after she was reprogrammed but don’t worry your perfectly safe, well when I say safe there is Rose, she is safe just in another dimension. I’ll get over her soon – it’s just last time I regenerated I fixed onto her as the nearest living thing – you know she infected the tardis on no account open that panel staring into the time vertex not a good plan! So New Earth I brought Rose here…”
Martha: “one more mention of her and…”
(loud explosion somewhere)

Went to London (again) over the weekend with my Mum.
This time we saw Wicked & Little Shop of Horrors. Both really good shows, but I think I marginally preferred Little Shop simply because I know the songs so well.
We didn't get overly lost and mainly ate in Chinese Buffet places that do all you can eat totally vegan buffets for £6 each. 2 meals + drinks £15 a go = damned good value as far as I'm concerned anywhere never mind centre of London!

Other than that impatiently waiting arrival of new computer from e-bay (it is so shiney looking!). And really not wanting to go back to work tomorrow.

Oh well

I guess I'll post again in another few months.

I went down to London with my mum at the weekend.
Living in Glasgow is numbing me to the effects of a big city. London seemed kind of small. (maybe it is more in comparison to Berln the whole small thing - I don't know).
Well I was in charge of navigating (my mum having a worse sense of direction than I do) and we merely got misplaced a few times rather than lost.
Saw 2 shows, The Producers and We Wil Rock You. and went to cinema, saw Children of Men.
Children of Men - nice idea but completely unrewarding. Nothing seemed to happen. It had a lot of ideas that just weren't explored. Wouldn't really recomend it.
The Producers - Funny. If you've seen the film yo know what to expect. Enjoyable.
We Will Rock You - AMAZING. We went into one of these ticket places and got tickets about 3hrs before the show started. Still not cheap at £30 each but more or less centre stage row C of the stalls. There is a big rotating platform to the stage and it was going right over our heads! The songs - well it was Queen songs really, you can't go wrong. The costumes were great. The humour was fabulous. I loved it. It, I think, would have to be one of my top three shows that I've seen - well at least until the memory of it fades. (the other two would be blood brothers & Phantom of the Opera).
It is Olaf's birthday today. Guess I should go wrap the presets.

Well, my computer is on. I am on-line (and with my actual web provider at that)
"Where's the problem?" you might ask.
Well I suppose 3 versions of windows on a machiene isn't that big a problem...
I'm going to have to break her again I fear in order to make her properly better.
However I have found some interesting things. Firstly, all the old e-mails that dissapeared the last time I broke windoze and that copying profiles works :-) this makes life much easier.
